I mentioned on my home page that I started writing because I wanted to keep people posted on my fight against Leukemia. Gradually, especially as I spent a week at a time ( a total of 70 days over 7 months) in the hospital, my updates turned into something different. Something that kept me from going crazy and wallowing in self-pity. In sharing not only my health battle but my heart battle, I realized I wasn’t the only one that was “sick”. The response was an overwhelming, “You too? Me too.”
So, I keep writing, because this life, even after you have had Leukemia and managed to kick it in the proverbial butt (by the grace of God), is rough. We are all doing the best we can but it’s never going to be easy. We need each other. We need to be gentle with others and with ourselves.
I write because I believe that when we share our brokenness together, there is hope. Hope for change, growth, healing, and transformation.
